My boyfriend is helping me as well giving me a outlook from the inside I just needed help on the outside view of things. See how others feel. Nothing is going to be published or in newspapers. You might want to consider good time that can be earned off the sentence (limited by the federal truth in sentencing law), parole availability (only in some systems, none in the fed) and the inability to earn additional time off for completing programs (different rules for different systems, but in the fed there is only one that not everyone can qualify for, and not everyone who completes it gets extra time off). Another big roadblock is the prohibition against inmate access to the courts until they have "exhausted all administrative appeals". It sounds reasonable until the prison prolongs the process indefinately so the inmate is blocked from any meaningful relief. Good luck.

I know your paper is done but you might want to look up the "Standford prison experiment"... It will tell you a lot about human nature and the way some people behave in positions of power. I have my degree in psychology so I found it very interesting and it's a very famous study. You can probably find a video about it on Youtube. Congrats on your paper

Actually, the guy who did the experiment, last name ZImbardo, has a relatively recent book out as he's been called to testify as an expert in cases of prison abuse, like the one involving the the military in Iraq.

http://www.amazon.com/The-Lucifer-Ef.../dp/1400064112

It's an interesting read. Zimbardo also has a lecture on the subject available for free at iTunes U.

I also think Stanley Milgram's experiments in the '50's dealing with electric shock and "learning" are highly relevant. Bet there's video of that stuff available at YouTube.
