His appeals have been denied. Although he has fetal alcohol syndrome, the courts have not granted a stay. He'll be the first person executed in TX with a single drug. An article can be found here with more details.

Sadly, no. He has been executed. I'm so angry right now. It took 25 MINUTES. Twenty-five minutes.

Oh God that's beyond awful and will surely constitute cruel and unusual punishment, not that being constitutionally unsound will make any difference to those responsible. I shall be lighting a candle and saying a prayer before I sleep tonight.
