"Your MWI is being released in 30 days..."

I went to visit my crazy nut of a husband yesterday. Our visits are always fun and eye-opening. So he wants to play a "game." He asks me what are the first 3 things I would do if he got a call Monday morning from the prison telling me that due to a change in law he was being released in the next 30 days. I was stumped because all Im thinking is dang, I got like 4 loads of laundry to do. LOL... So, after the pressure mounted, I told him #1 would be to start a crash diet , #2 put in a time off request from work and #3 would be to call Merry Maids. LOL. He got a chuckle from him, but in reality I would freak the freak out if I got a call like that for real.

What would be your top 3?

I pretend this same thing! Sometimes, I think about what would I do if he called and said he was coming home tomorrow? I know that I would not sleep that night before. I would be on PTO shouting it from the roof tops! I would touch up the gray roots in my hair! I would do my happy dance all over this place! . Then I would hit the ATM and make sure that I had money for the trip when he says he is ready.

Ah this is so fun to think about!!! First I would go get my hair and nails done, go shopping for both of us, and make sure to put in time off from work so we could have alone time!!! I wouldnt stress cleaning since he's honestly the more domestic one so I would leave all that for projects for him!! Lol jk... Ok well maybe not kidding!!!

After getting past the "OMFG" reaction and the chest tightening-lol-I sure as hell wouldn't be sleeping that night! Honestly I'd probably start crying, then I'd make a to-do list and then I'd plan out our ride home from picking him up.

I would promptly have a heart attack and die! But if I somehow lived, I would immediately run to the gym and I wouldn't leave til the day he got out! Then I'd find us our own place cuz right now I am roommates with another prison wife. And then I'd schedule time off work/doggy day care for the critters.

1. Call his mom and try to maintain a calm demeanor while I tell her her 18 year wait is finally over!!!!!!!!!!! During this time I will be wetting my pants, crying my eyes out, and sweating buckets. That's a lot of water loss!

2. After I regain a healthy level of hydration, I will be calling every one of my childcare options in order to set up a good plan of action. Mommy and Daddy need some time to practice a funner way to get dehydrated :P

3. Make a clear and unobstructed path from the front door to the bedroom. I have a feeling he wont notice the few dishes that seem to always be waiting for me to do them, OR the several loads of laundry that seem to never get warn yet are always dirty.

I'm a pragmatic one so once the initial shock wore off and all the calls to tell our loved ones were made, I'd be calling around trying to help him find some contacts to find work.

Once that was out of the way I'd be making appointments to get hair/nails/waxing done the week before he gets home. I'd make arrangements to work remotely for a few weeks so we can get to spend some quality time

1. After I finished freakin out, crying, and jumping up and down I'd definitely go on a diet!

2. Then I'd go get all of his favorite foods.

3. Buy myself something "sexy" for him.

1- ufff making sure to have work off days cover
2- making sure I have da house all clean and extra food on fridge an pantry...and
3- ill make a stop at fredericks for couple outfits and make sure to wear one under mi clothes da same day I'm on mah way to picc him up...ill make sure we r in noooo hurry to make couple stops even he is just 44 min away from our home Lmao

Well since today is my 30 DAY COUNTDOWN,, #1. I started my crash diet,, yogurt and fruit for breakfast,,, salad for lunch,, 4 oz chicken or lean meat with PLENTY veggies for dinner for the next 30 days,, PLENTY PINEAPPLE JUICE and water,,, gotta lose like 15 lbs,,,
#2.. Made appointment for dog,,, (poor thing),, long story for those who don't kno.
#3... Put in for my vacation,,, 2 weeks.

In two weeks from now imma make the hotel reservations... Good thread...

I like a fun post. After thinking about first thing would be trying to shake off disbelief and probably immediately go shopping (clothes (for him and me), food.....retail therapy might not be the best option but I'd do it anyway). Second, I'd probably clean the house top to bottom. Then third, make sure we had a sitter for the kids, at least for that first night

LMAO!!! I love starting my day on PTO... your posts have just had me smiling and cracking up at my desk. The only bad part is that most of you that I like so much would be dead or in a mental house from freaking out LOL. Seriously though.. I love your responses!!! Love you guys!

You said it! I'm having a really GREAT time reading this! Lovely idea and great thread!
First thing I'd most probably do is let the phone fall out of my hands before fainting.
After having spent some time lying on my floor letting it somehow sink in I'd then start browsing the web booking a flight, then calling work and taking an "emergency" 4 weeks off.
I'm pretty sure that the diet (which will be necessary, no doubt!) will for some reason not be that big an issue as I wouldn't be able to get food down properly out of sheer excitement.
I'd go shopping though, time and money well spent, I'd say.

See my cleaning would take place at the end of the month cause you've got 30 days. That's 30 days for it to get dirty again, so why expend that energy I would so love to be getting that phone call!

I had a dream a while ago that he called me early in the morning saying he was getting out that night. I'm in Milwaukee and he's in MN so my concern was that I didn't have gas money to pick him up. We've talked about it and he definitely wants me to be the one to bring him home so we can be together before he hits the HWH

hmmm...

1- transport.........either buy the plane tickets, limo and whatever type of transportation I needed to go pick him up and bring him home...

2-get the apt all ready for him..that means cleaning, stocking the fridge and the bathroom so when he'd walk in he'd feel like he just stepped out for a minute..stock up all his favorite movies..and have plenty of candles layin around..he already told me he wants a pizza hut pizza with everthing and extra cheese, cherry cheesecake and a super cold Swiss Country iced tea to wash it all down so I don't think I'm goin to have to worry bout cookin .... lol

3-get myself ready baths every nite to get every part of me soft as silk..not eat for those 30 days and lift sum weights n do plenty of kegels..lol , lay out in the sun everyday n have one hell of a sexy outfit waiting

and to the OP..ur a lucky woman to have a man that likes to be playful with you..gotta luv it..... .

Well, I would cry tears of joy and freak out...lol. After I calmed down...I'd:

1. Call his family and my family to let them know, as well as post on PTO and fb.

2. Make arrangements for me to pick him up (i.e put in for time off; get plane ticket, etc).

3. Buy him clothes, stock up on his fave foods, etc.
