Ohio's High Court denies appeal

COLUMBUS — The Ohio Supreme Court on Wednesday denied an appeal to review the conviction of Shaun Cleland, who was sentenced to 35 years in prison for killing his estranged wife’s boyfriend in Brunswick in 2005.
After being found guilty on seven counts during a two-week trial in 2009, Cleland appealed his conviction to the 9th District Court of Appeals. In December, the court affirmed the finding of Cleland’s guilt, which Cleland appealed to the Ohio Supreme Court.
