According to a Gallup poll from May 2010, 16% of Americans consider themselves non-religious.

So my question is do you think its appropriate to keep this phrase on our money? Please explain why or why not. Hopefully we can have a discussion about this without anyone being offended.

Just as most currency in other countries, our bills portray our history as a country. And whether or not people are religious now, it can't be denied that our country was started on christian principles. I don't see why people worry about it so much, if you're not religious-ok, if you are- ok. I definitely don't spend a lot of time thinking about or caring what is on my dollar bill before I put it into a vending machine...so I don't get why other people care to be honest?

I absolutely 100 % believe we should have this on our currency. This country was founded on these values although I respect everyone's religious beliefs, I think our constitution and everything since forever ago was based on "in God we trust" and we should keep it. Its already bad enough our children in some states can't even say the pledge of allegiance because there's supposed to be no "God talk" in schools. That's ridiculous IMO.
