New to this website - My brother is in federal prison Atwater?

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this forum, I'm glad I was able to find this place. It's great to have support from others and to find answers, especially when you're totally lost. This is my frist time having to deal with the federal court, lawyers, and a loved one in custody, I have no clue how prison works, how the federal government sentence people, that there's really no justice for all that I've seen. Basically, my brother just accepted the plea bargain of 30 months, just so he doesn't have to deal with the 10 year minimum sentence for conspiracy of cultivating marijuana. It's a long story, but he's been in Fresno County since May of 2011. It's finally over for him in County, they sentenced him a few weeks ago, and I just checked, BOP says he's in transit, so I'm guessing they are finally transferring him to federal prison. I read that federal prison is a lot better than county jail, as the food is better, and the living style is better. He requested Atwater, and the judge says depending on availability. I tried to search and find a good place, and it seems like Atwater is suppose to be pretty good. I sure hope they are sending him to the Atwater camp, because his charge is non-violent? I think he has another year to go then he will be released. The lawyers say typically you do 85% of the sentence. If anyone could give me information on Atwater, or life in prison I would greatly appreciate it!!
