Notice to new members intending to register - from January 9th 2012

Hi all. I just found this site while researching resources for Ex. felons. I was just recently paroled and figured I'd stop in and see what this place has to offer.

It seems like this might be a place that I can get some replies without the attitude usually given to Ex. offenders. I will be reading and getting familiar with this site. Hopefully this is something I can use.

Am trying to find out about the early release based on meritorious or good behavior in Illinois. Would appreciate any information or references to the law that was passed, whether it has been enacted, when will we see results and what will they be. Hope the date is soon as well as the results. Look forward to your reply. Pam

THe law was passed and went into effect already. However, they had not handed it out as of 8/10/12 when I was released. Here is a link to the Bill

The key words to notice are "At the directors discretion". They do not have to give it out and are starting with non violent offenders first. Thats about all I know. It's back and they have NOT started giving it yet. Not everyone is eligible. Read the Bill.
