Dalhart Prison Unit, Dalhart TX; Does anyone know someone there?

Hello to all I am fairly new still I was wondering if anyone knows anyhting about the Dalhart Unit in Dalhart Texas my ex husband is there and i would like to know the rules and if anyone knows anyone there I believe he was on medium custody for a while he got caught with some contrabane but normally he is in GP any news would be help full seeing on how I have never gone to visit him and he has been there a little over a yr now its like 800 miles or so from Beaumont and with three kids and low income its hard but as I said any help would be appreciated I would just like to know the type of place he is in

i have a brother at the dalhart unit and i'd really like to visit him. please let me know when you are going and i'll join you. he's been at dalhart for a little over a year, but has been in tdcj for 15 years and 4 months so far.

hey guys my husband just got transfered there and we live in victoria, tx its about 800+ miles also, i have not heard from him yet it took him 3 days to get there...you can always call and check on him thats what i do with my husband....im actually flying out of san antonio to see him 4th of july weekend...the ticket was 225.00 just as much as i would spend on gas to get there we get contact visits for 4 hours on saturday and sunday and they told me just to call up there the week before so they can set it up for us....also the ladies i have talked to in inmate records are really nice so far....i should get a letter from him tuesday i'm not sure how long it takes for us to get mail being so far away but as soon as i here from him i can let you know.....he is also up for parole in february of 2008!!! so i hope to be back together soon...we have a 4month old and traveling with him for 15+ hours would be too hard by automobile...but if anyone wants to join me on a flight let me know i already set up a rental car and hotel...we would fly into amarillo and dalhart is 90 miles north...

hey there i just got a letter from my husband today....her gave me some information on dalhart unit....he said its pretty laid back and they are rarely on lockdown....he said the food sucks and the co's can be assholes but he said he could stay away from them...but i think all in all he is ok with being at that unit....i know it is just so far away!!! he kinda got emotional and said he was very sorry for them sending him so far...he was having a pity party for himself....i have called to the unit and spoke with the ladies in inmate records and they all have been very helpfull....so i think it is not so bad....i know its far away but i would rather have my husband somewhere where he is comfortable and not likely to get into trouble....i guess there are pros and cons...he did tell me there are some places that let you stay for like 20.00 a nite but i will get more information and share it with ya'll when it comes to me...

hey chocolate girl im thinking about going this fathers day weekend....maybe we can get together and discuss the trip i live about 1 1/2 hours from houston south of houston actually in victoria....im planning to drive maybe you can let me know if i do go im going to leave friday around 4pm and return sunday right after visit...feel free to pm me....

Michelle I wish I could go with you this weekend but I have plan already. Please let me know how your trip goes and how long it took to get there? Did you call the Warden to have a special visit set up? Have a safe trip
