They DO allow cell phones now, through Vconnect.

Ray at inmate phones approved my cell phone. I sent in the T-Mobile bill. It's official at both prisons & has been for a while now.

My husband is currently in Awest. I miss him dearly and feel so alone sometimes. He has been gone for 99 days and I have not been able to visit yet. I am so glad that I have gotten my Cell phone approved for phone calls.
