Default what are you doing for YOU?

i have been thinking about all of the time and energy that we devote to keeping our loved ones feeling loved...and have been so impressed by all of the recent valentine's day ideas, etc....

what i want to know is...(drum roll!)...what do you do for YOURSELF? what do you do to make sure that you are happy and focused? special treats? regimens? etc.?

i ask, in part, because i fear that i have lost a little bit of the sense of how to make myself happy. i have kind of let myself go...physically, emotionally, etc...my friends, i need a little inspiration. tell me all the good things you do for you...and if you don't do anything, well, let's start!!!!

xo,
em

I'm unsure if I do anything for myself good i'm kinda like in your situation to where I've become such a worry freak and always making sure Javier is okay and as happy as he can make himself. So this I would say is a good question. thanx for bringing up the subject it is a good thing to think about.

yes...please do think about it...when we can't come up with answers to something so simple...eventually we are going to get worn down, and angry...we need to take care of ourselves!!!

oh man I wrote this long post and I had to many smiles in it ...It didn't post.
These are things I do for ME!
I take long baths once a week with all diff kinds of lotions
I pick up the phone and talk to friends on the phone ALOT.
Every Saturday I wake up have my coffee with my best friend and we hit the road. We run all over town even if we do not much but ride around and laugh...we always seem to have fun.

I do volunter work for MADD which cleans my soul.

I think that I deserve the very best of what life has to offer and I know now at 42 that money can't buy "the best" It has to come from within. I have found true LOVE and I can hardly wait for the next 20 yrs of my life with Tony.

I think everyone needs to take a few minutes every day for themselves Its like a breath of fresh air!

Love ya emme

I start each day with a walk--I walk for about an hour. It's a great way to start my day and great exercise as well. I am taking this opportunity to get in shape for myself. This includes exercising each day and learning more about good food choices.

I get my nails done.

I do something creative for myself on a regular basis--these days I make scarves.

I am a huge film buff so my major treat for me is to take at least a couple of hours aside every week to immerse myself in at least one good movie. Although now that I just upgraded to digital cable and have "movies on demand" the trick may be to keep myself from spending ALL my time watching movies...

lol @ Lulu, maybe I should color my hair ???

Well, yesterday I bought 3 frames on sales to put his last polaroid pictures in my bedroom. Does that count ? And then I went to my favorite shop, and there was this wonderful Jean Paul Gaultier jacket ON SALE !!! 500 bucks instead of 1000 !!! And you know what ???? I tried it on !!!! I hope that counts !!! It's still in the shop

This is a very scary question. I don't know how to explain this. I've never been one to do much for myself, becuase I love doing for others so much. Right now I'm just doing anything and everything to keep busy. Some are legitimate others are not. But they keep me busy. What scares me is when I stop. It is terrifying to not stop. Does this make sense? Does anyone else do this?
My sister conned me into going on a cruise. I've been paying for it for months. I signed up for this before Dennis left, because I just knew that I might need it down the road. I am looking forward to it but then again I'm not. I guess I'm just lost. I'm not very helpful huh.

I eat chocolate and drink hawaiian punch...silly I know, but it's what I would do as a kid when I was all wired and happy.

Now I think I've reverted to long drives into the country and mountains/desert and relaxing in the hot springs.

Taking the time to write a page in my journal every day...

Talking to family to get a reality check

As silly as this sounds...or odd actually...taking out the trash gives me this feeling that I've just cleaned my entire house...I'm not quite sure why...but it works for me

I make time to read at least one good book a week.

I'm also a dog lover - so I decided to "foster" for a local rescue league in my area - every few weeks or so, I take in a new dog/puppy until a permanent home can be found.

I take a nap

I count my blessings every day - especially the bad days - reminds me that there are good things in my life to be thankful for.

I do LOTS for me.....its just as important as doing things for hubby. I go to Bingo a couple of times a month, I read a series of books and buy each one as its published. I do LOTS of crafts and make jewelry.

In the summer I plant lots of flowers, go fishing and swimming, to auctions and garage sales.

When I'm broke, I read, take long hot baths, bake myself a treat or make fudge or play cards on the net.

I learned a LONG time ago that if I don't take time for ME, then I'm not making my hubby very happy. Both of us work very hard to keep each other happy!

well i must say. i dont get to go out much.... due to money. but the long baths and i work out 4-5 days a week so that helps me and gives me time to myself. I am soon going to start tanning. so there a few different things you can do for yourself. even if it is just a drive down the ocean or waterfront

Emme,we all need to give ourselves something,so PLEASE take a little time out on a regular basis to be very, very good to yourself..it works for me...I...
Take a long,brisk walk everyday,on the beach,in the forest,in the fields,around the town.
Watch silly funny films that make me laugh(last night it was 'Goldmember'-Austin Powers)
Eat nourishing fresh foods every day-lots of fruit and vedge
Get into bed early with a good book
Write something everyday
Have an aromatherapy massage
Dance,dance,dance

oooo yes,and I've ben doing a little of Louise Hay's workbook 'how to heal yourselfe'.

It's good that you brought this to the table emme...because I totally try to ignore this question. Eddie asks me this all the time on the phone and I quickly change the subject. He always warns me that I have to take it easy and do something for myself and I'd like too but lately ther just hasn't been ANY extra time. Sorry if that sounds like whining...lol. I know I need ot but really since before the holidays and moving and all the regular stuff I try to keep on top of for Eddie...it's been awhile.
Oh but Sunday Sophia took a nice LONG nap...and at first I was thinking....well this is a good opportunityt o paint the bathroom, but instead I sank into a steaming hot bath
....it felt soooo good.

NOT MUCH LATELY..BUT I KNOW IT IS IMPORTANT. I DO A LOT WITH MY KIDS WHICH BRINGS ME GREAT JOY. I LIVE VICARIOUSLY THROUGH MY KIDS AND THEIR SPORTS (HAHA)--
BUT I DO SOMETIMES GET UP REAL EARLY ON THE WEEKEND (NOT OFTEN, BECAUSE I AM A NIGHT OWL) AND DRINK A CUP OF GOURMET COFFEE AND SIT ON THE PORCH AND READ THE PAPER --OR STAY UP LATE AT NIGHT AFTER THE KIDS ARE ASLEEP AND LISTEN TO JAZZ AND DRINK A GLASS OF WINE--(SIMPLE PLEASURES), I WORK OUT 3-5X A WEEK--
I ALSO SING KARAOKE OCCASIONALLY--BY THE WAY I THINK WE SHOULD ALL GO OUT AND DO KARAOKE AT THE PTO-FEST IN MARCH...
MY FAVORITE THING TO DO IS CHECK INTO A MOTEL ALONE --ORDER CHINESE WATCH MOVIES IN BED --GET INTO THE JACUZZI WITH CANDLES AND A GLASS OF WINE (HAS TO BE A IN THE ROOM JACUZZI )--I USED TO DO THIS ONCE A MONTH-NOW I AM LUCKY IF I GET TO DO IT ONCE A QUARTER!

I ALSO SOMETIMES BUY SOMETHING I DON''T REALLY NEED-THAT IS ALWAYS FUN
