I haven't officially changed my name, but when I search my name or check my credit it already comes up under my"real" name. We were married before him going to prision and agreed that it would be officially changed by the time he came home. Don't get me wrong,I love my new name, but we have to wait to change my daughters name. I'd rather avoid all the corrections from ppl assuming she and I have the same last name. I went thought that with my biological parent and my step parent and I hated it.

Yes most definitely. I joked with him about either hyphenating my last name and his or he take mine..lol he said Hell Naw!!! (To both) I'm old-fashioned. He had the craziest look on his face..posture changed too..

My boyfriend and I talked about this a few times. I told him that if we get marry, I'm gonna hyphenate it. He said no you're not! You were destined to take my last name since our last names starts with the same letter. LOL! He's so funny and cute. The thing that he doesn't know is that I'll take his last name in a heartbeat!
